Onboarding

A friendly, guided onboarding flow so new users understand the product and get to their first headshot faster. First-time users land here before the dashboard.

What happens

1. Sign up, a user account is created and, when the database migration is applied, a credits row is created automatically for them (0 credits).
2. Welcome wizard, the user picks up to 6 sample photos and confirms the core steps (train a model, generate headshots).
3. Free trial credits, if you enable free_trial_credits (see below), the onboarding completion grants them once (idempotent - they won't be granted twice).
4. Checklist, once inside the dashboard, a "Getting started" checklist tracks their progress: get credits, train your first model, generate your first headshots.

Configuration

The free-trial amount is set by an admin on Admin Panel → Announcements → Free trial credits, stored in platform_config.free_trial_credits. Set it to 0 to disable free trial credits.

Database setup

The onboarding tables and helpers (user_profiles, the signup auto-credits trigger and the credits ledger) are all created by supabase/schema.sql. Run the entire file once in the Supabase SQL editor when you set up the database and everything is in place.
