Image Editor
A hands-on, free image editor built into the dashboard so your users can manually fine-tune any headshot or design. It complements the prompt-based Magic Editor and is rendered with Konva + react-konva.
The Image Editor is free for everyone, saving a design to the user's gallery charges no credits. It is included with the codebase out of the box.
Where to find it
Open AI Tools → Image Editor in the dashboard, or send users straight in with an image preloaded:
/dashboard/editor?image=<public-image-url>What you can do
- Canvas, pan, zoom (scroll / buttons), fit to screen and a grid overlay.
- Elements, text, uploaded images, rectangles, circles, lines, arrows and an emoji sticker library. Everything lives in a layers panel where you can reorder, show/hide, lock, duplicate and delete.
- Backgrounds, solid colors, brand gradients or an image.
- Adjustments (raster layers), brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, grayscale and sepia, plus flip/rotate.
- Sizes, canvas presets (Post, Portrait, Landscape, Story, LinkedIn banner, Photo) or a custom size, and rotate the whole canvas 90°.
- Crop, the Crop tool lets you drag the frame or its handles (or type exact width/height), lock an aspect ratio (Free, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16, 1.91:1) and Apply crop to cut the canvas and re-frame the content. Cancel / Esc exits.
- Undo / Redo, full history (Ctrl/Cmd+Z, Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z).
- Export: Download as PNG or JPG at high resolution, or Save to gallery to keep it with the user's other edited images.
Storage
Saved designs are uploaded to the existing ai-edited-images storage bucket
(the same one used by the Magic Editor) and recorded in the ai_edited_images
table, so they appear in the shared edited-images gallery. No extra buckets or
migrations are required.
Credits
Only AI actions (model training, headshot generation, Magic Editor) consume credits. The Image Editor is deliberately free.
